Acting as the center with major tourist places around, Pune is nevertheless the best city for a weekend getaway. Hill stations like Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala, and Khandala are so close by (as close as 60 Kms). So is its royal cousin Mumbai, which Is only a couple of hours away. Another major draw of people who visit Pune is Goa, with easy and frequent transportations to the pearl of the Orient.
